Ready to create your first page in Prismic? This guide walks you through accessing your repository, creating a new page, adding content, and publishing it live. You’ll get hands-on experience with Prismic’s core features in just a few steps.
Visit your repository
Your repository is your individual content project in Prismic. Think of it as the home for all content related to a website.
Follow these steps to navigate to your website’s repository:
Log in to your Prismic account
Go to prismic.io and sign in with your credentials.
Select your repository
Click on your repository name from the dashboard to access your project.

View your pages
You’ll land in the Work tab, which shows all your content.

If this is your first time in the repository, you may see an empty content list. Your developer has created page types (templates) that define what fields are available when you create new pages.
Create your first page
Follow these steps to create your first page:
Start creating a page
Click Create a new page in the top-right corner of your page list.

Choose a page type
Select a page type from the dialog to create a new page. Each page type is like a template: each one has its own purpose and set of content fields.

Fill in your content
You’ll now see the Prismic editor with fields specific to your chosen page type.

Common field types include:
Text fields - Click into any text field and start typing. These might be labeled as Title, Heading, Description, etc.
Rich Text fields - These allow formatting like bold, italic, and links. Look for a formatting toolbar when you click into the field.
Image fields - Click Select an image to upload from your computer or choose from previously uploaded media.
Link fields - Add internal links to other Prismic pages or external links to websites.
Save a draft
Click the Save button at any time to save your work as a draft.

Preview your page
Before publishing, see how your content will look on your website:
Open the preview
Click Preview in the bottom-right corner of the editor and select one of your previews. You’ll typically use one named Production.

View your content
A new tab opens showing your content as it will appear live on your website.
Make updates
Make changes in the editor tab, save, and switch back to the preview to see updates.
Publish your page
When you’re satisfied with your content, click Publish in the top-right corner of the editor to go live.

Your page is now live! Updates usually appear within seconds, though some sites may take a few minutes.
After publishing, verify that your content appears correctly.
The page status changes from “Draft” to “Published”.
Visit your live website to see the new content.
You can continue editing the page. Changes will remain as drafts until you publish again.
