Manage Prismic

Billing

How to manage repository plans, payments, billing details, and invoices.

Prismic billing works on a per repository basis, not per account. Your account will always be free, and you pay only for the individual repositories you upgrade.

Repository owners and administrators can change billing and payment details as well as view subscriptions and invoices.

Plans and pricing

Each repository can be on a different plan. Plans vary by team size, features, and API/CDN usage. To compare plans:

  • Go to Settings → Plans & Billing.
  • Review plan options and pricing.
  • Pick the plan best suited to your project by clicking on update plan.

You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time.

Upgrade your plan

  • Go to Settings → Plans & Billing.
  • Click Upgrade plan.
  • Choose a tier and billing cycle.

Upgrades take effect immediately. If your usage exceeds your current plan’s limits, your subscription will be adjusted to a plan that supports your usage. This ensures service continuity and accurate billing.

Downgrade your plan

  • Go to Settings → Plans & Billing.
  • Click Change plan.
  • Select a lower plan or Free.
  • Review the limits for the selected plan and confirm.

Changing your plan does not remove charges for usage already incurred.

If your usage exceeds the limits of your selected plan, your subscription will remain on, or be moved to, a plan that supports that usage.

Unless you pick otherwise, any changes in plans such as upgrades or downgrades will keep your current billing cycle’s type (monthly-to-monthly or yearly-to-yearly).

Payment methods

All plans can be paid by credit card. Annual Platinum+ and Enterprise plans can also be settled by bank transfer on request.

To manage payment details:

  • Go to Settings → Plans & Billing → Payment (bottom of the page).
  • Click Manage to open the Stripe-hosted payment portal.

In the payment portal, you can:

  • Add or update a card.
  • Change billing information (name, address, tax ID, etc.).
  • Switch payment methods.
  • View past invoices.

Usage dashboard

The usage dashboard, located in Settings → Usage Dashboard in your repository, tracks how your repository is consuming resources during the current billing period.

It helps you visualize current usage, identify trends, and check how close you are to your plan limits.

  • API requests: The total number of requests made to your repository’s API.
  • CDN bandwidth: The amount of data served from the Prismic CDN.
  • Integration fields: The number of requests made through integration fields.

A color-coded status indicator next to each metric shows how close you are to your plan limits.

Filter usage by date

The date filter lets you focus on a specific period within the current billing cycle. This can help identify short-term usage spikes or compare different periods.

Download usage logs

Download a CSV file with detailed usage logs.
The logs include:

  • Timestamp — When the request or bandwidth usage was recorded.
  • Type — API request, CDN bandwidth, or integration field.
  • Quantity — The number of requests or the volume of data used.
  • Source — Where the request came from (e.g., API endpoint, integration).

Use this data to:

  • Pinpoint high-traffic times.
  • See which integration fields or endpoints are consuming the most resources.
  • Share exact usage data with your technical team for deeper analysis.

Usage data updates

Usage updates periodically, not in real time. This means recent activity might take up to 24 hours to appear in the dashboard or logs.

Invoices

Invoices are available in the Payment section of Plans & Billing.

Each invoice shows:

  • Plan and billing period.
  • Any API or CDN overages (billed per call/GB).
  • Tax information.

Keeping billing up to date

Prismic will continue servicing your project as long as your payment method is valid and your plan is active. If your payment method needs updating:

  • Go to Plans & Billing → Payment.
  • Click Manage billing to update card details.
  • Save changes.

If your payment isn’t processed or fails for any reason, the system will retry automatically up to three times.

Refunds

Annual plan renewals can be refunded if requested within 30 days of the renewal date.
Monthly plans are not eligible for refunds.

To request a refund:

  • Downgrade the repository to the Free plan.
  • Contact support with your repository name and billing information.

Refund processing can take several weeks.
