Create a page

Pages are the main units of content in the Page Builder. Each page follows a structure defined in your repository’s content model, using slices and fields.

UID

The UID (unique identifier) sets a page’s URL. Each must be unique within its type. If you don’t fill it in, it will auto-populate from another field (often the title). Prismic formats it automatically and checks uniqueness.

Slices

Slices are modular sections you can add, reorder, and customize. Add slices from the left sidebar, move them up or down, change their variation, copy and paste, or delete them. Use the + Add Slice button to insert more.

Text fields

For simple text like titles, headings, and descriptions.

Rich Text fields

Rich text can include formatting, media, and links, depending on configuration.

Image fields

Upload from your computer or choose from Images & Files.

Tabs

Some pages have multiple tabs to group related content, such as SEO metadata. Use the tabs at the top of the editor to switch between them.

Save your progress

Click Save to keep your work as a draft. Drafts are only visible inside Prismic.

Preview your content

Before publishing, you can preview how your content will look on your site if this has been set up by your developer team.

Live slice previews show real-time updates as you edit.
Page previews let you open a saved draft in a preview environment, such as production or development.

You can also preview scheduled releases from the release screen. Exit any preview by clicking the “X” in the toolbar.

The preview feature

View history

Prismic keeps a record of all changes so you can track, compare, and restore versions. Removed content appears in red, new content in green. For images, use the comparison slider. Restore any previous version, review it, then save and publish.

Publish your content

When ready, click Publish in the top-right corner. For larger launches, create a release to group and publish pages together.
