Use the New Page Builder

Prismic's new Page Builder offers a streamlined editing experience.

The Page Builder is divided into three main sections. The left sidebar shows live thumbnails of your slices, which will update with content as you type. In the middle, the editor displays inputs for your content. And the right sidebar shows version information.

Enable live previews

If your editor isn't showing live previews, you might still need to enable them. You can ask your developer to do this for you (with these instructions). However, it might also be possible for you to enable them yourself. Try going to /slice-simulator on your website (e.g. example.com/slice-simulator). If you see a plain text page that says "Slice Simulator," you're ready to proceed. (If you don't see anything, contact your developer.)

In the Page Builder, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner (), click "Live preview settings", and paste in the URL for your slice simulator.

Slices

Your page is composed of slices. Add and remove slices in the thumbnail sidebar.

Each slices has a three-dot menu () with the following actions:

  • Duplicate slices
  • Delete slice
  • Change slice variant

You can move your slices with the arrow buttons or by drag-and-drop.

Rich text

In rich text, your formatting options are available inline. Select the text you want to format, and a formatting toolbar will appear.

You can also type / to open a formatting menu.

Publishing

In the header, you will see Save and Publish buttons.

Save will create a draft with your changes.

Publish will release your changes on the API, updating your website.

From the calendar icon, you can add your document to a release to schedule a publication date in the future.

Archiving

To archive a document, click on the three-dot menu () in the top-right corner of the screen and click "Archive."

Duplicating

To duplicate a document, click on the three-dot menu () in the top-right corner of the screen and click "Duplicate."

Locales

If your repository has more than one locale, you can see the locale switcher in the right sidebar. Use that switcher to change locales or copy your content to another locale.
