Content Changes and Previews

Preview Content

Transcript

[00:00] Now you've successfully set up previews in your project and repo. It's time to see what all the fuss is about. You can either create new content or edit existing content. So let's go to the Prismic dashboard.

[00:10] Select the document you want to work on or choose to create a new one. This is where your creativity comes into play. Add text, images, links, whatever you need to make your content stand out.

[00:20] Done with editing or creating your masterpiece? Great! But before hitting that Publish button, it's always a good idea to preview the changes. On the top right of the document editor, you will find an eye icon. Give it a click.

[00:34] This takes you to a new browser tab that gives you a sneak peek of your content in the real world context of your website. Remember, this is an interactive preview, so feel free to navigate around ensuring everything fits together as you intended. All this is done using cookies in your browser and without rebuilding your project or affecting the live website.

[00:53] You're not limited to previewing single documents either. Prismic allows you to preview an entire 'release' of content. This is great for when you're planning a larger update and you want to see how all the changes work together. Simply go to the 'Releases' section, select the Release you want to preview and click the eyecon... the eye i icon... icon... puns are hard.

[01:13] Anyway, satisfied with what you see? Excellent. Just remember to always click the exit button to trigger the exit route on your project and clear the cookies in your browser.

[01:22] Now, if Mrs. McDonald agree, it's time to share your work with the world, head back to your Prismic dashboard and hit that Publish button. Your updates are now live for everyone to see.

[01:32] That's it. Quick and easy steps to create, preview, and publish your content using Prismic. Remember, previewing helps ensure your content is perfect before it reaches the audience. Happy creating.

Main takeaways

That's all, folks!
