Improve developer velocity with new tooling, documentation, and integrations

New work impacting the experience of developers with Prismic — improvements to SDKs, documentation updates, and more!

To our developer community,

Getting started with Prismic should feel intuitive, and growing with it should be just as straightforward. But with technology constantly being on the move, your journey is not always as smooth as we'd like it to be. That’s exactly what we're trying to improve here.

We’re focused on ensuring developers have everything they need to work efficiently with Prismic — from better documentation and SDKs to comprehensive learning resources. We also spend time talking directly with developers like you to understand where things could be better, and we bring that feedback back into the product.

This space is where we’ll share what we’re working on: improvements to the documentation, new tools and resources, and updates shaped by your input. You can also expect behind-the-scenes looks at how we approach developer experience at Prismic — and how we’re collaborating with other teams to make your workflow better, end-to-end.

If you ever want to weigh in, test something early, or just ask a question, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Cheers,The Developer Experience team

2026 refreshed packages

Also related to:JavaScript packages

Throughout December, we worked on refreshing our JavaScript packages so we can keep bringing you the best integrations with your favorite frameworks.

Now that the last pieces of that effort have been released, let’s take a look at what’s new as we head into 2026.

Vue and Nuxt new majors

@prismicio/vue v6 and @nuxtjs/prismic v5 are now available. Those versions focus on cleaning up deprecated APIs and simplifying internal logic. They include a few breaking changes.

The most notable change is that @prismicio/client is now a peer dependency of both packages and must be installed explicitly in your projects. In addition, the wrapper props, deprecated in 2025, have been fully removed. Upgrade guides are available to help you transition smoothly for both the Nuxt module and the Vue components .

We also introduced shorthand component definitions for <PrismicRichText> and <PrismicTable>, making simple templating cases easier and smoothing the transition for users who were previously relying on HTML serializers.

Svelte components shorthand

Similarly to Vue, the Svelte <PrismicRichText> and <PrismicTable> components now support shorthand component definitions since v2.1.

Improved client performance

Finally, with @prismicio/client v7.21.1, we improved how the client handles API caching, resulting in more efficient network usage and slightly faster queries in some cases, without requiring any changes to your code. We also updated the in-IDE documentation (TSDocs) to be more concise and accurate.

We're excited to keep improving your developer experience and are looking forward to seeing what you'll build with Prismic in 2026!

Nuxt 4 support

With this morning’s Nuxt 4 release, we’re excited to share that Prismic fully supports Nuxt 4!

We've been preparing for this release since last year, and just pushed the supporting updates to Slice Machine. All our starters have also been upgraded.

If you’re building with Nuxt, we recommend upgrading to Nuxt 4 and updating your Slice Machine adapter. Learn how to upgrade your website using the official Nuxt 4 migration guide.

Still using Nuxt 3? No worries, our SDKs continue to support Nuxt 3 projects.

Happy Nuxting! 🏔️

New design

Also related to:Documentation

Today, we're launching a redesigned documentation website that matches the rest of the Prismic website.

Head to prismic.io/docs to check it out.

In addition to the updated colors and fonts, the new website features:

  • A simplified homepage with direct links to the most popular topics.
  • A more prominent search bar, directly in the center of the header. It's also always a ⌘K keyboard shortcut away.
  • A direct link to your Prismic dashboard from any page.
  • Larger text, images, and whitespace, letting you focus on your learning.

Next, we'll be refreshing the pages that need our attention most. Keep an eye out for the next update.

P.S. We also added dark mode. Your eyes can thank us later.
